AIR VENT by

Air Vent by CertainTeed

The easiest and most effective way to create an effective, year-round ventilation system is to use a balanced system of intake and exhaust airflow through the attic.  Air Vent ridge vents feature an external wind baffle, a patented weather filter and a 30-year limited warranty.

Air Vent ridge vents combined with undereave venting can help:

  • Keep your attic cool and dry
  • Reduce air conditioning costs
  • Prevent winter ice dams
  • Prolong roof life
  • Meet new shingle warranty ventilation requirements
Advanced Design!
The Air Vent's advanced design
includes an external baffle.

Two unique features contribute to the superior performance of Air Vent ridge vents:

1. External Wind Baffle - Unlike corrugated plastic, rolled and some molded ridge vents, Air Vent ridge vents feature an external baffle which creates negative pressure necessary to pump air up and out of the attic.  The baffle also helps prevent wind-blown rain and snow from entering the attic.

2. Internal Weather Filter - This patented filter deflects rain, snow, dust and insects without clogging to provide a more complete weather barrier.

Air Vent offers two different styles of ridge vents:

Multi-Pitch FilterVent® is a molded metal ridge vent, available in a variety of colors and materials.  This style of ridge vent blends in with the roof and creates a decorative touch at the ridge line.

  • Multi-Pitch FilterVent is versatile and flexible to fit roofs with 3/12 to 12/12 pitches

  • Weep holes every 6 in. at the base of the baffle allow moisture run-off

  • Colors: black, brown, white, gray, mill finish, bronze, copper and fungus-resistant zinc

ShingleVent II
ShingleVent II®
ShingleVent® II is a "shingle over" design.  The vent is installed, then cap shingles that match the roof are installed over the vent.  This style of ridge vent blends in beautifully with the roof.
  • The low profile design with a height of 7/8 in. is almost invisible from the ground
  • Made of durable molded high-impact copolymers that are flexible at below-zero temperatures and stable at high temperatures
  • Available in four colors: black, brown, gray and charcoal
  • 12 inches wide for conventional shingle over applications
  • Two additional widths available  - 9" and 7" (charcoal only)

For an attic ventilation system to work properly, the volume of air intake must be equal to or exceed the air exhaust.  In a ridge vent system, intake vents must be placed on the roof, usually in the eaves.  Air Vent also offers a variey of high-performance intake vents, such as the eave vents shown below,  to fill this need.
